Walking through different parts of Nepal is the best way to experience the country’s unbeatable combination of natural beauty and cultural riches. The massive contrasts in altitude and climates support an equally spectacular variety of lifestyles and flora and fauna. You will walk through picturesque villages inhabited by diverse ethnic groups, pristine forests of juniper and rhododendron, and accompanying you throughout will be the icy pinnacles of the Himalaya. There are two different ways to go trekking in Nepal, one is “Camping trekking” and the other one is “Tea House Trekking”. The tea house trek will take you to destinations with tea houses situated along the trekking route. Tea house trekking is a little more luxurious and easier than camping. Camping trekking is operated to those areas where there are no lodges and no restaurant along the route, so all the necessary equipment and staff, such as the guide, assistant guide, cook, kitchen assistants and porters. You will be camp overnight in tents and the cook will prepare your food for you. The Everest region, Annapurna region & Langtang regions are the most popular “Tea House trekking” regions. Camping trekking can be operated anywhere in Nepal where tourists may wish t o visit. There are some camping trekking areas which are already operational for trekking such as Ganesh Himal, Manasalu, Panch Pokhari, Rolwaling, Makalu, Kanchanjanga, Gorkha trek, Ganga Jamuna, Mustang, and Dolpa.
To trek in Nepal, you need to be reasonably fit, possess a spirit of adventure and not be intimidated by the prospect of having to walk. Meeting Adventure takes care of all necessary arrangements such as government permits, air/bus tickets, guides, porters, food, tents, and equipment. All you have to do on the trail is to concentrate in putting one foot in front of the other. As mentioned already, on many popular trekking trails you can also trek in what is known as "Tea House style," eating and staying in the many lodges that line the trail instead of camping in tents.
Trekking is possible at any time of the year depending on the destination you choose. The most popular seasons are February to May and September to November. Winter is very cold above 4,000 metres and high mountain passes may not be negotiable, but trekking at lower altitudes is always possible. During the rainy season from June to August, there are possibilities to trek in the pristine rain shadow areas north of the Himalayas like Mustang and Dolpo since these places are unaffected by the monsoon.
