LG 60PM9700 REVIEW

The 60PM9700 is LG’s Flagship plasma for 2012. This 3D TV uses active shutter glasses. I know most of you complain about their expense and weight but this is the only way to get full 1080p to each eye increasing detail that you wouldn’t get with non active sets. There was little cross talk and images seemed to pop-off screen or appeared deep inside it when I viewed 3D content on the 60LM9700.
Picture quality is vastly improved over LG’s 2011 models thanks to upgraded phosphors and a new black filter that has improved the black levels and contrast. Deep blacks are the key to good contrast, vibrant color performance and picture depth. LG’s claim is that these improvements increase black levels by 40% over last year’s offerings.
These 2012 plasmas also have a first ever matte screen that cuts down on glare, this is a fairly common feature in LCD and LED televisions but it is a first I’ve seen on a plasma. This addresses the major complaint about reflective glass screens on plasma TVs.
The 60PM9700 looks beautiful with its black brushed aluminum frame that doesn’t distract by reflecting light. They stand is funky metallic winged design that is reminiscent of Samsung TVs winged design.
Like most new tvs today it is Smart!  Get access to a ton of content with a wave, scroll or click of thew new LG Magic Remote below. The scroll wheel is a big improvement and accuracy is spot on.
I found the Smart TV dashboard to be intuitive and I loved the ability to customize the content to my liking.  Some of the highlighted Internet TV providers are Netflix, Vudu, Cinema Now, You Tube, Hulu Plus. You can also expect several new partners in the sports industry to stream live sports programming, allowing viewers to follow their favorite teams, stream in HD quality broadcasts, and generally be able to tailor their sports viewing to their liking. You also get what LG calls a full web browser. I’ve yet to see any TV manufacturer provide the same experience you get on your computer at home. But it will do a basic job of browsing if you are patient. This is also one of the firstUltraViolet™ capable TVs giving you instant access to your movies in the cloud.
While I always recommend a hard wire connection the LG comes with integrated wireless capability and has the ability to make Skype™ video calls with the purchase of a Skype camera. You’ll also have to fork out $49.99 for a pair of these new lightweight 3D glasses with improved styling unless you buy the TV from us between now and 7/28/2012. If you do you’ll get two pair of glasses free with purchase of either the 50″ or 60″ PM9700 series plasma.
How much is this beauty going to cost, we’ll I can tell you that you won’t pay full retail when you shop with us and if you are our friend on Facebook you’ll save even more. Call (866) 998-4843 or click below for a quote.
